Just curious what's a fair labor charge to install shocks? I was quoted 80.00 each.

 

I assume this is rear shocks for an 05-09 mustang??

I would but I'm having surgery on both arms and don't feel like waiting too long.

 

So that's 160 to do the back! That sounds like alot to do the back!

 

I paid $180 for all 4 installed.

 

Ford says, fronts pay 1.3 and rears pay 0.9 hours under warranty. They would usually tack on another 30%-50% for a retail job, so the tech will be likely charging 2.8 - 3.3 hours. I don't know what their labour rate is...but doing the math backwards they are charging $320 for about 3 hours work, which gives them a shop rate of $100+ an hour. Sounds a little pricey, but then again my shop rate is $134. Hope that helps

*Chilton Labour Book says Retail = 2.0 front, 1.3 rear.

 

Now that sounds reasonable to me!
