Default Upgraded tire suggestions/ need to hook off the line/nitto?

Hey guys, I am planning to get some new rubber and rims. Looking at the black bullit wheels on my 06. For tires, I need something with decent grip off the line for strip and street performance. (with the 93R tune N/A im not hooking) I wanted to get a larger tire size, perhaps a staggered set up. I want the car to still function properly around turns etc. These tires will only be used during spring and summer so a summer tire will work. ( ill use my stock tires for other months hence the all season) The car is a daily driver so I need to have tires that do ok in rain. I called up American Muscle and they recommended the Nitto 555 in the front for 245/45 17 and a nitto555r in the rear 275/40 17. ( Not sure if I want to just buy 18in rims but same tire size) What do you guys think about that for mostly daily driving fun and the occasional track and autox use? Only red flag that I had in my mind was that I never heard of using only 2 R compounds in the rear and not in front or on all 4 tires. Wouldnt there be understeer issues? This is making me unsure if i should just stick to all 1 type of tire or not. Also, the car is lowered with SR springs 1.5 inches and has all new shocks and struts. All other suspension components are stock, so maybe that'l help with launch control. I didnt readjust any angle after the lowering, everything looks ok though. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks alot. The tires and suspension mods will be my stangs spring and summer mods.

nitto invos. I run 295 in the rear and 255 in the front. They hook up great. Very sticky tire, and they handle GREAT.

Those are smaller diameter tires than stock, especially the front. I would run a softer compound tire than the nitto 555 up front, find a 200 rating tire all the way around. Options are 255/50/17 all the way around on 17s but you could do a 255/45/18 on all four with a 18x9 wheel. You could do a staggered 255/45/18 front and 285/40/18 rear on 18x9.5 wheels all the way around. Or get 18x9 front and 18x10 rear wheels with the above staggered tire sizes. Just find a soft summer tire that isn't a drag radial as NJ gets rain and you don't want to fishtail into a tree.

Yea, I love am but sometimes their tire setups make me go hmmmmm....say what?
Stick with the 555's on the front and back for a dd. The r nitto is well documented to suck in the wet as stated above.
18's are the way to go because of selection Imo.
255/45/18 are a safe bet up front on an 18x9 rim. The rear is all about preference, but the most popular choices in 18" are...
255/45/18 non stagger
285/4018 on an 18x9.5 or 18x10
295/45/18 on an 18x10 rim...all available in the nitto 555.
Hope this helps!

Don't you dare run a 555r in the front and rear or you will slide into a poll or a tree on a wet day, lol. A drag radial looks nice in the rear and hooks up well in the dry, BUT, that tire won't last long so that won't be good as a DD and if you drive during the rain and you gas it heavy on a turn...watch out. INVOS

Thanks alot guys. Yeah i raised an eyebrow with that. So I really would not be able to run anything stickier because of weather limitations? Idk lol

So what if the 555r was only on the two rear tires and a standard 555 was in front? lol and what does INVOS mean? haha

Dude, forget about the 555r. It is not a good option for a dd setup!
Invo is a different tire offered by nitto and would be worth a look. Go to nittos site and do some research.
I have had the 555's (non r) on all fours for two years and would recommend them with no reservation.

Everything ive heard or read about the 555 is saying how great they are. In your experiances, how well do they hook off the line? Ill do someother suspension work but power wise im still under 300whp. Might get around there in the future. ( only have cai, tune, pulleys, and axle back). Tread life is suppost to be decent as well, but I reallllly wanna hook lol.
