Default Tire Mounting - Prices

My tires from tirerack came in and I need to get them mounted. The tires I bought are Eagle #1 Nascar Goodyear 225/60r16s for my stockers. I stopped by Goodyear and they quoted me $125.

I though I'd consult with the experts as I have no idea if that's a good deal or not. In all honesty, seems kinda high.

Ripoff.

For $85 I just had 4 tires dismounted and then mounted and balanced on another set of wheels. Low profile fee included.

I paid $60 to have my stock tire dismounted, the sensors removed and placed on my new wheels, then my low profile tires mounted up on said wheels. Stay away from big chains. Small shops are your best bet.

In my area most shops charge $25 a tire.

I suppose I lucked out. My Ford dealer charged me $39 to dismount my stock tires from my stock rims, install my TPMS band kits on my new rims, transfer the sensors from my old rims to the new ones and mount and balance my new tires. Then, after returning due to a bad vibration, they RoadForce balanced all 4, found a defective tire and then mounted and balanced my replacement tire a few days later at no additional charge. I ended up buying them a few dozen doughnuts and slipped the tech that did all the work an extra $20. Total cost was $59 and some doughnuts.

the place near me charges based on the size of the rim, the bigger the rim the more is costs but it's not huge jumps in prices. I think to get a set of 15's mounted and balanced was $65 and a set of 17's was $80.

He didn't say. After I told him what kind of tires they were, I asked how much would it be to install. I **** you not, he stared at me for a good 10 seconds. I had my sunglasses on, so I kinda tipped them down and asked the question again. Immediatly he said $125 including disposal of the old tires (Which I still want to keep). I said thanks and walked out.

I stopped by a local shop today and they quoted me $75 w/ balancing. I'll have to get more details on what else that price includes.

Nuke, I wish my dealership would do that. I swear my local dealership is a front.

Thanks for the help everyone. I'll post some pics once they're installed.

If you go to the tirerack site, they have a list of installers in your area with the prices they charge and reviews from people who used them.

I bought my tires from Tirerack and the installers they listed for me were the most expensive in the area.
