Default sway bar end link...

K so when i had the 'stang at the dealership getting the maintance done... they pointed out that one sway bar end link was installed in-properly. The pass. side i guess should be vertically, and its installed into the other hole on the strut, then go to the driverside, and its installed straight up, so next time i had it in for service, at a different dealer (one that i trust more), they said that it doesn't matter and its fine...... so is one dealer wrong and trying to steal money, or are they right and the other doesnt care???...

it shouldn't matter as far as your handling is concerned, but may have put some undue stress on the link, as it's designed to be in a vertical position.

The two mounting points that are available for the sway bar
link make the strut so it will work on either side.
But only one hole should be used for the sway bar end link.
The rear hole on both sides. The length between the sway bar
ends is and will be different if you use the rear hole on one side
and the front holes on the other side. This will put the bar in a bind
at ride height. It will essentially be 'pre-loaded' one way and that
front corner will be the first to dive into a turn.
Its not right and they (or you) heed to fix it asap.

So if you fix it ,be awar ethat it is in a bind when you
go to remove the wrongly placed end link to move it to
the proper hole...

Getting the stock links up to torque is difficult. The best approach I've seen per post #15 in this link

https://mustangforums.com/forum/s197...ml#post6897725

There are also apparently new end links from Ford that are easier to install per post #2 here

Yeah i would just get the new endlinks from ford so you dont have to worry about those things coming loose all the time. I blue locktited the hell out of those end links and still couldnt keep them from clunking. The new design is much better
