Default Front end clunking confirmation

Hey guys recently my front end is clunking when I brake pretty firmly, it has an initial grab then a clunk followed my metal on metal sounds almost sounds like binding. After some research it sounds like my issue could be the end links? This started happening after I did my STR.T install, I'm thinking they're not tight enough. Just wanted to confirm!

That is a good place to start checking.

Getting those old sway bar links tight is a problem. I everntually gave up and bought a set of Sam's.

Did you use blue Loctite?

I had a thunk over bumps. I checked and rechecked everything over and over again. Loctight, torqued, etc. Keep thunking over bumps, like the joints in the subdivision street. Finally brought in a fresh set of eyes and within 5 minutes my buddy accidentally found the the problem. The strut mount was loose on the passenger side. How it came loose I'll never know, but I cranked down on it and months of headache disappeared. Now I doubt this is your problem, but if you cant get it pinpointed bring in a friend is the moral of this story.

Thanks for the input guys, I know its not the strut mounts thats the first thing I checked and I know what the clunking strut mounts sound like. This is a different sound, I am banking on the endlinks. If I can't get them to act right I am going to order some from Sam, I am going to try loctite this time I didn't initially and this may be my problem!

I've had the same problem recentlly. Read many posts in this thread 2007 Front Suspension Thunking Noise. Went nuts looking and could not find anything loose. Took it back to the dealer Friday and was told they will replace the endlinks under warranty. Hope you get yours worked out.

I took my endlinks off yesterday and re-tightened them down and on the way in to work this morning they seem to be fine now, but if it comes back I am going to buy adjustables.

I loctited mine and tightened them down again and the clunking went away for a few days but now it is back. Going to get adjustables lol.

That is exactly what happened to me. A set of Sam's links solved the problem.

That is what I am going to end up doing, did you adjust them at all or bolted them right up out of the box? (Not sure how they come) Because I know nothing when it comes to adjusting suspension components and wouldn't even know where to begin as far as the ideal setting for the endlinks.

Sorry but it was so long ago I don't remember.

Ask Sam when you buy them.
