V6 Pony Pkg Tires
I recently got a 2007 Mustang V6 Coupe Premium with V6 Pony Pkg and V6 Perfomance Pkg. I find conflicting info on the proper tires. The window sticker
says P235/55/ZR17 and the door sticker says P235/55/R17. I have seen similar info online. I know the tires were replaced several months before I got it and it has P235/55/R17 on what I call "Crager like" 17" premium painted cast aluminum wheels. I got the windows sticker from Ford Show Parts.

There's a difference between the "R" and the "ZR" involving the tires' speed rating. But since they're both P-metric, the load capacity vs inflation pressure is the same and the same inflation pressures would apply (up to the speed rating of the "R" tire, anyway).
You have to read the tires' complete designation, which may have something like "98W" stuck on as a suffix to the P235/55R17. That would also be a "W" speed rated tire.

I just wasn't sure with the conflicting info I was getting and then when I ordered a new
original window sticker and it also said ZR17, I was even more confused. Actually, I was
shocked when I first saw it listed as a ZR17. My old 89 5.0 yea VR rated tires but the
07 V6 seemed a bit much. Thanks for your response guys.

Just found this as an old review when the 07 Mustangs were just coming out.
For V6 buyers, the Pony Package includes a customized grille with GT-style round fog lamps and a chrome bezel, or “corral,” around the traditional Mustang prancing horse. Backing up this visual upgrade is a GT-inspired suspension featuring a larger front stabilizer bar, the addition of a rear stabilizer bar and P235/55ZR17 tires on painted cast-aluminum wheels. With bright machined rims and unique tri-bar Pony center caps, these are the largest factory wheels and tires ever fitted to a V-6 Mustang. Further touches include Pony front fender badges, lower door tape stripe, carpeted front floor mats with special brushed chrome “Mustang” logos and a rear spoiler.
Just another example of conflicting info I am finding

It is accurate - the Pony package grill is the 1966 GT style grill with small fog lights, the corral around the running horse with chrome bars and surround, with upgraded suspension including larger sway bar up front and a rear one, 17" bullitts with Pirellis Pzero Nero 235/55zr17 tires. In 2006 we also got the traction control system and ABS as part of the package; in early 2006 we had essentially a GT suspension with a V6 a little more than "inspired" by for the set up, some later builds and the 2007+ had smaller sway bars on many of the builds.
The floor mats had a brushed aluminum emblem on the edge with "Mustang" that didn't come in the base model, tri-bar caps on the bullitts rather than the "Ford" oval, tri bar fender emblems not found on the base or GT, side stripe that is a large center stripe with two smaller pin stripes rather than the dual stripe found on the side of the base model; look at my sig picture and you will see.
Where is the conflicting information?

JimC,
I'm still a little shook up in quake and hurricane land but I believe my previous post
says ZR17 not R17.
I have not had much sleep and have no power at home, so I could be mistaken.
Thanks.

I just went out in the garage and checked my tires on my 2006 Pony convertible. These are the stock take off tires for the car:
Pirelli Pzero Nero P235/55ZR17
The tires/wheel you see in the sig are my old drag racing set up so not the stock wheel or tire

JimC,
I'm still confused. Lets put that aside. How about the door plate on your 2006. Does it say zr or r and if I understand you correctly you are saying your 2006 came with zr's on it.
All I'm saying is I bought a used 2007 that had new r17's on it. The door plate had r17 and some info online said zr and some said r. I'm ok with what I got but wondering if
it actually came with zr as my replica windows sticker says it did and previous post review says it did.

What is the brand on your tires? Are they the Pirelli Pzero Nero? If they are, then that is what came on the car from the factory. If they are any other brand, then you have a replacement set.
The door sticker says "235 55R/17" for the tire size.
The Z only stands for the speed rating of the tire and the R of course stands for radial. You can put any speed rating tire on the car, and as long as it is a 235 55R/17 it will fit and your speedometer will read correctly. It doesn't matter if the tire is 235 55WR/17 or 235 55SR/17 or 235 55R/17 - they are all the same diameter and same rpm per mile. The extra letter is ONLY telling you the speed rating of that tire. That is why your door jamb sticker says "235 55R/17".
