Default need tire input

I'll need to put new tires on my 05 GT this coming spring and I need your input. I've tried some searching here and really couldn't find what I wanted. I have the OEM Pirelli P-Zero's on it now. They are a bit noisey and pricey so I've looked at some Falken 512's. Anybody have any expericence with them? Or what other 235-55ZR17's would you use. Thanks for the help.

Does Nitto make those in 235/55ZR17's?

You should check out the Nitto web site. It has lots of good info.

I had those tires on our '01 Maxima for too long. They're an OLD tire as tires go and I'm surprised that they're even still around - the ZE912 was supposedly derived from the 512 and is claimed to be better. Falken eventually did dial back their pitch for the 512's to something less suggestive of high performance.

The 512's wore fine and coped with small amounts of snow OK, but when they first came out they were overbilled as "performance all season". What they drove like was more like "all season with a big hint at a performance appearance and a small hint at actual performance". Cornering turn-in was soft and lazy, like they really didn't want to be bothered. Decent enough grip once you got the things actually cornering though.

I replaced the 512's with Bridgestone RE960AS, which is a far sportier tire.

Thanks for all the input so far. The Nitto NT555's are out of my price range. The Pirelli's are at my upper limit as I'm retiring soon. Norm I will look at the 912's instead of the 512's. That's the kind of info I'm looking for. Keep it coming.

I like my Hankook V12s. You can't argue with that kind of bang/buck. Are you looking for summer or all seasons? Car and driver has a couple good comparisons about summer tires.

I don't plan on driving the Mustang in the winter so summer tires will work as long as they are good in the rain/wet. And I'll check out the Hankook's Stin42. Thanks for your input.
