I have a squeak coming form the rear of my 2007 V6 convertible and I'm pretty sure it's the rear lower control arms (at least one of the squeaks is the control arms). I don't drive my car aggressively and I care more about a comfortable ride (as comfortable as a mustang can get, lol) over super stiff handling. Plus I have a V6 so there's no wheel hop. Almost all the aftermarket lower control arms I see have polyurethane bushings. I read a bunch of threads where people said they transfer more road noise b/c they're harder which I don't want. The only ones I can find with rubber bushings, which Ford says are still harder than stock, are from Ford Racing. Is there that big of a difference? I was debating between these two:
I don't have poly bushings. I still have the stock lower control arms that have rubber bushings which I I think are shot and causing a squeak. I heard poly bushings transfer more noise to the inside of the car because they're harder. I'm curious how much noisier they are and if I would be better off with the Ford Racing ones since they have rubber bushings. Performance isn't a concern since I don't have a wheel hop issue (it's only a V6 and I don't drive aggressively).
The SR LCA's that you linked have poly bushings. That leaves you with only one choice, the Ford Racing arms. Based on how you want your car to ride that is the one you should select. A higher durometer rubber won't make any noticeable difference in the ride except that it should drive better because the bushings aren't worn out.
Look on your local CL for used lower control arms. the GT500 and GT are the same part but GT500 are painted grey. I had them both side by side and had same # on rubber bushings front and back. they were ok but I opted for JM lower control arms with poly bushings and don't notice any more NHV over stock. good luck
