Default Time for drag radials...or ??

Shopping around for new rear tires. Running a 18X10 rear wheel. Currently using Michelin Pilot Sport AS/3s, which are quiet and well behaved. Only problem I have, I need more grip (see mods below).
So, I'm thinking about swapping out to an extreme summer, or even a drag radial. Looking for the absolute best gripping tires available.
Only one caveat. I live six miles from the nearest paved road. This means, I have to drive dirt/gravel to get anywhere. Maybe that's a benefit, gives the tires time to warm up.
I live in eastern Colorado, it rarely rains here. Does get cold though. I have lots of vehicles to drive, so if it's ugly out, the Mustang stays in the garage.

Looking for suggestions. It's just two rear tires, so money is really not an issue. Tread wear is way down the list also. Grip is the number one priority.

I run nitto 555r 305/40/18 on a 18x10 wheel. It's a drag radial thats decent on wet roads, sticks way better than any summer tire too. They can last up to 15k too compared to other drag radials lasting 3-5k.

No matter what you end up getting, I'm going to suggest not letting the tires get/stay hot just before turning onto that gravel road to go home. Even MPSS tires at 300 treadwear will pick up all kinds of pebbles when they're hot. Some can and will get embedded in the rubber tread blocks themselves, not just in the grooves. Been there.

Good to know they behave themselves. Are you in Hawaii? Wouldn't get cold, but if they are driveable that's good to know.

That's good info. Hadn't thought about the softer compound picking up gravel.

I've been running this tire for 5-6 years on the street ib a slightly larger size. I love them.

No rubbing with the 305s? I assume they will fit, I'm only lowered about an inch.

With the 305/45/18 I had to put a different spring in to keep it from rubbing. With the 305/40 you'll probably be just fine.

Good to know. Those are at the top of the list.

It seems there are other DRs that are better for ultimate traction, based on what others have said, but the Nittos overt longevity, good stable cornering and phenomenal traction. Good luck with your choice.
