Default Thinking of getting a shelby gt350

About a month ago, my 2006 mustang GT was stolen. It's finally time for it to be replaced.

I'm now thinking of upgrading to a shelby gt350. I'm a tad nervous as I can't test drive it plus the fact that it's an additional 15 grand. Ouch. Can anyone who's had both cars tell me if there's any difference (besides power obviously ) in the feel of the shelby? Do you all think that the additional cost is worth it?

Another issue I have is that whatever car I get, I'm going to have to drive it in snow. I live in a small city so the roads should be kept well under control, but we have use salt. Consequently, I'm also looking at getting the Dodge Ram 4x4 pick up. ...With the sports package so it'll still be fun as hell. So I'm wondering, how does the shelby handle in snow? Does anyone even drive a shelby gt in the snow? The only times I drive is to go to the grocery store once every couple weeks, so it won't really be out much anyway.

One last question, does anyone have any suggestion on how to lower the price from 45 grand? The couple dealerships I've talked to refuse to lower it. Note I have USAA, but even that won't reduce it by too much.

Edit: I'm also thinking of just getting another mustang GT as I don't really think I'm willing to spend that much extra cash. Any info on these cars in the snow would also be appreciated.

I assume by "GT 350" you really mean "Shelby GT." You can find new cars selling way less than $45k (more like MSRP of $35k or $36k) - any dealer who tells you different is full of it. Used ones are slowly starting to turn up as well for around $31k - $32k.

Seeing how both are rear wheel drive and the HP increase isn't like going from a Fiat to a Ferrari, both probably drive equally well or poor in the snow.

Good luck!

Those dealerships that want $45,000 are definitely full of it, they might have gotten away with it earlier, but you can find them for 35 - 37. Ebay would be a good place to start.

I think by gt350 he's talking about a mustang GT that the dealership put together. I saw one here in San Antonio at Jordan Ford. It was a stock GT with the gt500 apperance package on it and 20" chrome deep dish bullits. It looked pretty good. but I would definentally take all those shelby badges off of it. I think they were asking 33,000 for it.

If you don't mind me asking, how did someone steal your mustang? Did it get towed away, broken in and hot wired? I though these things were tough to steal without the chip in the key. I just bought an 2008 and it has an anti theft alarm or something like that as an option.
Thanks,

Sounds good, would love to talk about the cars. There is another shelby in my neighbor hood too. I saw his and had to have one! Give me a call sometime after the first of the year and we can meet. 678-372-2334
thanks,

Don't know where you are on the GT350 hunt at this point. Over on the Team Shelby site, it has been confirmed that Shelby will build a GT350 some time in the future. That is a start. For a long time there was not even that confirmation. It has not been revealed what its specs would be. Should be pretty interesting, though.

the price is too high...it can be negotiated to 35-36K....and I hope it's a Shelby GT we're talking about....the GT350 is overpriced because it's only a dealer package....they add a few things you could easily do yourself and jack the price way up
