Afraid to modify Shelby GT!!!
Mine is a GT, GT500, KR, Autobot. Bottom line is, Im living for today and enjoying my car TODAY. Does it really matter if its worth a little more or a little less in the future? Who knows what tomorrow will bring. You could always keep the original parts that you change out so that you can return to stock one day. Actually it will be worth more that way when you can even claim that the tires on the car are the exact same tires the car came with the day you bought the car.
Yours is the closet number I've seen to mine so far. I'm 1220. I plan on a few mods but will save all the original parts to restore it if I ever decide to sell. I don't plan on selling it but you never know. I added an oil/air seperator so the crankcase vents clean air back into the intake manifold. I plan on supercharging mine but not sure if I want to drive to Vegas to have the Shelby factory install it. It would be better to do it that way so they can update the registry and the stripes on the bottom.
Mod away! You could be diagnosed with some bad **** next week and then what?I would say don't cut on the car if you are worried but otherwise it is your car so have fun with it and screw the purists. When they help on the payments is when the opinions matter. You are starting with an awesome car and unless you put a red baron ricer wing on the back you can't go wrong.
my shelby (CSM 3929) had the paxton with liquid/air aftercooler installed in vegas, now you can have authorized shelby stuff installed either in vegas, here in dallas at quantum performance, or at this one place in rhode island. doing mods is fine, i have limo tint, just ordered my o/r x pipe, have center dash pod (boost gauges etc) cupholder wide band A/F gauge, the shelby razors (black) baer brakes, sequentials, and i just ordered my centerforce clutch (stock gt clutch didnt like 430 rwhp for 9k miles...) FRPP 4.10 gears, and Speed of sound a pillar (dual) gauge mount for my water temp and oil temp gauges. basically, you can do any mods you want, but my strategy, like yours, is no mods that DECREASE value. all things that can be either swapped to stock easily or necessary things (aka the clutch). NO CUTTING!! luckily for us, that is much easier these days. we can swap radios without actually cutting up the dash, i plan to put in an AVIC D3 touch screen that fits the double DIN where the stock radio is. best part is, no cutting involved, all you gotta do to switch it back to stock is sliiiiide it out and put the stock shaker head unit back in. oh, im also doing a pulley swap to run more boost and a much more agressive tune, but again these are all things that can be turned back to stock. good luck!

IMO go to shelbyautos.com and go to the performance section to see what you would do to your car. and if you get it done at the shelby plant in vegas they can re-register your car saying it came with whatever you put on it as stock. i have an 08SGT #0359 Vista Blue Coupe. So when it comes time to blow it and do other major mods im driving to vegas!
