Default Challenger

This might be a thread for the race section but here goes. My brother in law called me this afternoon and asked me to come over, so I did, and what do I see in his driveway but a new Black Challenger. Lucky I drove my Cobra and had my camera with me. He told me that he paid 66k for this and that he wont race me untill he gets a tune. So when he gets his tune what do you guys think he will be pulling?

I must admit that they are nice cars, sunroof, navigation, hook ups for dvd in the back and dont forget the rear center seat cup holders. but not for what he paid. I told him to watch it because ppl will be looking for you especially those sleeper, he just laughed and said that its going to be a garage queen.http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...c/DSCN4780.jpg

I owned a Charger SRT8. Same powertrain and approximate weight as your friend's Challenger. With aCAI and tune mine pulled 390 RWHP on the Dynojet. The 6.1 is a good motor but it doesn't respond to mods nearly as well asthe Shelby 5.4.If you can shift that 6 speed you should blow him away, even with a tune.

Considering with a tune intake and alternator underdrive pulley the Shelby makes 600hp, and is faster than the challger stock, you've got him beat both in tunability and in speed. The gt500 is really a better all around car.

All 2008 SRT8's are automatics and have open diffs.

I smoked a couple of Charger's SRT/8 already and their not that bad, so I figured I will wait untill he gets his tune and still keep mine stock just to make him think its close. I paid 57k for my Cobra in 12/06 which you can prob find close to MSRP now at 43k, But 66k for a nice but underpowered car which is MSRP at 41k ,but with options it can easly be at 48k, and still with no performance mods in that Mopar ,the Challengerwill beownedby Ford for years, poor bastards. Maybe they can resurect the Road Runner/ Cuda ?
