GT500KR

You can get most all the parts to turn your GT500 into a KR but it won't be an actual KR that is in the production cycle. You could possibly have it blessed by Carroll Shelby and have it in the registry as one if you have enough money for the donation, but that is my opinion.

most everything is available except the actual KR hood (several aftermarket options are available though) along with a couple other items. You might want to touch bases with another member from this forum (AZALLOY) that has done an almost complete KR clone. Here is a link to some recent photos he posted.

They won't let you get it registered as a true KR...even for donation. They made the EXACT same amount of KR's as they did in the 60's (around 1850). And like stated before, certain pieces (including the hood) cannot be bought. You can buy knock offs...but not the real deal.

you may be able to get the same horsepower or even more but don't think you have enough money to get the same handling.
There will be plenty of clone parts available in the coming months.
I expect they will also have a forger who can do fake Shelby autographs for you too!

thewheelman... nice Alloy GT500! Think that is the first GT500 vert I have seen in Alloy and it looks sweet! As a fellow Alloy owner, I am partial to that color as well and really like the look of yours with the GT500 package.

Trufiber (http://trufiber.com/c-29-mustang-2005-2008.aspx) has a hood that is very similar to the KR's hood....

Yeah Doogie! Another Alloy owner! Cool! Yeah, I like the subtle color. I'm not into write-me-a-ticket-red anymore and the alloy cars had caught my eye while I was shopping. I really like the color--it's different!
Have fun!
