Thanks! I liked the 1st grabber orange Mustang I every saw! I can't believe I waited so long to get one! Now I want to drive it all the time but don't want to put all the miles on it!

You and your family are more than welcome to drop in over here in WV anytime you'd like, it would be my pleasure.

Thank you for asking about my dog. He's spirits are much better, but the leg still very weak. No worries, I carry him wherever he needs to go.....or he gets a ride in the mustang. Lifting 70+ pounds several times a day is making my arms feel a little stronger!

As much as we'd like to preserve the value/collectibility of these things, the bottom line is they were built to be driven! So drive it and enjoy it. If it'll make you feel better, just remember that these aren't true Shelby cars. They're SVT vehicles w/ the Shelby GT500 name licensed to be plastered on it. Notice the "SVT" on the door sills, tachometer, valve covers, etc.

Back on topic, I put over 400 miles on mine in the first 5 days or so. What's sad is that it has less than 450 miles on it and I'm already about to be on my third tank of gas! I'm definitely gonna have to get a used econo-box and use this for my sunny day/weekend fun car like my '05 GT was.

.

100% agree on first statement....

the 2nd while somewhat true...please note they are still registered with shelby registry and are listed as a limited edition mustang...yes they dont actually visit shelby himself...but at his age what could HE actually do as he did with his team back in the 60's anyways..to me I enjoy the heck out of this car because of what it looks and drives like, not whose name is on it....so I agree....DRIVE IT....ENJOY IT....dont keep it as an investment...
just my opinion

Well, yeah. Shelby himself doesn't touch any of the cars coming out of Shelby American, Inc. What I meant was that the GT500 never even goes to Shelby American, Inc. It gets sent over to the SVT boys and right back out to the dealerships. So in that regard, it's not a true Shelby car, just a badge job. Either way, it's an awesome car!

This is now 2 weeks and the 2nd week only put 150 miles on it. Oh, I will drive it a lot. It's really hard to keep the foot out of it isn't it! I know that makes the mpg take a beating. It sure is fun tho! And hey mine has "Shelby GT500" on the door sill (it came with the signature plaque)
