It is only a mute button so you can talk on the phone with no radio volume

The best thing to do with the Shaker head is to toss it and get a nice aftermarket...the sound will be a lot better and you wont have to deal with the Shaker problems and shortfalls.

I agree! Had a Pioneer AVIC X9130BT installed: one of the best things I've done to my car. XM Radio, Blue Tooth, USB, iPod, Nav modes all work great!

Pioneer is the way to go.
I went with this one and LOVE IT! Had an earlier version in our GT when we traded for the GT500 we went with this one. No doubt Pioneer has made the best I've seen and heard. This one does NOT have the moving screen which seems cool but everyone I know that has one hates it if they drive stick.

Again this is what I got. Bluetooth, SD card slot, Nav included IPod and customization. Satellite ready.
The Nav is AMAZING on it. You can even buy a small unit that will tell you the traffic around you and give you GREAT alternate routes, and the SD card is SO AWESOME getting all those songs on a SD card and not having to worry about switching CD's. It also plays dvds etc.
Trust me it has all the bells and whistles, you can customize the colors and even take images from the web and use them to be the logo on the screen when you start it up. (Mines a GT500 logo I downloaded off the net and put on the SD card....... and with the deck alone you will notice A BIG jump in sound AND sound quality.

Highly recommended my friend:

Mark's model is also a GREAT model. Check them both out and see what you like better. As far as brands... stick with Pioneer. they have been in the ZONE for the past few years as far as giving customers a product that EXEEDS the other brands for LESS money. You just can't beat them. They are what MGW is to our short throw shifter market.

Were you able to compare any Alpines or Clarions sound quality prior to making the decision to go Pioneer? It seems everyone is very happy with the Pioneers and it's a serious contender for me, but I really would like to hear Clarion vs Pioneer vs Alpine and I just havent found a shop that has them all.

By moving screen, you're talking about the motorized screen where it slides out of the way to insert a CD/DVD? I honestly didnt think about that but now that you mention it, that probably eliminates the Clarion for me if it's going to be touching the shifter.
