Default Thinking about getting rid of my 2012 5.0 in favor of a 2010 GT500

I apologize if this (or something similar) has been asked before. I don't know much about the Shelbys, but what are your thoughts? Are the differences drastic enough to make it worth it?

Depends on what you want to do with the car. In my opinion, yes the difference is drastic. While the 5.0 might handle a road course slightly better, the Shelby will blow it out of the water in a straight line, braking, and about any other category. The GT500s are incredily easy to mod as well.... spend $700-$800 and you will be making in the neighborhood of 550rwhp.

That's kind of what I was thinking. Here's the first one I saw:

I don't know what they're worth or anything yet.

I've seen them in the $32k range.

Definitely get the Shelby GT500. You see Mustang GT's everywhere. You rarely see a Shelby! I just made the switch and will never look back to a GT!

Get the Shelby. Much better platform to begin working with and unique. I made the switch and couldn't be happier.

I just got my 08 GT500 for 34k with all the mods and extra parts and only 21k miles on it. This is my first mustang but I figured I would start with the GT500 if I'm going to get rid of my Built BBC C10. I have heard and read nothing but good things on these cars. I get home in July and that will be my first time driving it. I'm sure it will be everything I dreamed of.
