Default Backup camera issues?

Anyone else experiencing issues with their backup camera on their 15-17 mustang? After having mine for a year just last week when I was backing out of my driveway it started to flicker and shut off. Just this morning it just wouldn't show and a message popped up saying backup camera not available. Is there anyway I can fix it or should I take it to the dealership?

Mine is 2 years old and working well. Is yours under warranty? Take it back to the dealer if so, should be covered.

If it's under warranty don't touch it.

No problems with mine. Needs a good cleaning once in a while.

Just curious what was wrong with it? Did they replace the camera or a wiring issue?

They explained they tested the wiring and concluded the camera was bad.

Mine has started to do this, took it to the dealer after 2 weeks of it being in-op and the day I took it in it started working again Mine also had pretty crappy AC so had them check it, they did, early in AM and at 70F it worked find (idiots.)

My 2015 GT convertible lost the camera. I got the no camera available message.
The problem was in the wiring harness in the trunk. The wires from the trunk deck exit in a hard tube that is taped and wrapped in a mesh wrap. I uncovered the wires and cut the tube back a couple of inches where I found three damaged wires. The plastic tube causes the wires to hard flex at that point.
The blue/white wire was parted. I spliced a repair wire in and shrink tubed it. The other two only had bad insulation so I patched them with liquid tape then wrapped the whole thing.
I hope that this helps someone else.

Mine started doing this recently, especially at work during the summer. I would get in my car at lunch break, and the camera wouldn't be working. But by the time I would get home at the end of the day, it would be working again. Thanks to you, I now have something to look into and fix this upcoming weekend!

By the way, I'm new here, and I am also a mechanic by trade as I went to technical school for auto, diesel, and industrial. While I'm not in the automotive business anymore (may jump back in later in the future), I should be able to help anyone with some troubleshooting to narrow down what problem they may have. I just happened to decide to look and see if anyone already figured this camera problem before I got started on it.
