Horsepower Rating for 07

One of the biggest reasons why high HP aftermarket kits are not warrantied is that Saleen has no control over what was done to the car, what other items are also on the car, what "tune" the customer is going to run, what shape the car is in before the kit is installed etc.
We do way more production SC cars then we sell aftermarket kits, so if we are going to worry we really worry about production. On these cars we know how it was installed, we do all the seals, we are sure of the tune etc.

I would think it'd be a great opportunity for Saleen to sell more kits to current 2005-2006 owners. I'd bring mine up to Saleen in Irvine right now if I knew it wouldn't void the warranty. However, if I was interested in voiding my warranty I'd rather do it by replacing the internals and running a solid ~500HP+. The cost/risk factor is just too close with this $1k bolt on upgrade w/o warranty coverage.
Here is what you have to remember, if you upgrade an older model then you have changed the emmisions spec that the car was certified to, this makes it aftermarket, it is no different then Ford selling there upgrade parts.

I guess in my view if 475 HP is approved for the 2007 model than these kits should not be classified as aftermarket when installed on a stock 2005-2006 S281 SC by Saleen directly or any of the licensed dealerships. I'm going to be plenty bummed if my 3 week old 2006 SC with 400 miles on it gets left out of the added HP benefit given to the 2007.

All I am doing is answering a question about why, simple as that, I will answer questions as I can for people, however I am not here to argue
Thanks

So is that a "no" to the warranty question that is really driving this discussion? If it is too soon to give a direct answer on this fine, then please say so. If you can give a definitive answer then please do that too. Having an answer will allow people to decide their upgrade paths if they so choose to upgrade. That's all I'm after here, an answer so I know what to plan for (immediate 40 HP gain, or in 36 months upgrading internals, etc).
Either way I need to go drive my car more lol

I'm sorry, I'm not trying to argue. I just wasn't sure if that was a clear "no" to the question regarding warranty. I'm now understanding it was. That's fine.
Have a great weekend! TGIF man lol

Enjoy the weekend all... I need to go for a cruise myself
why are people constantly worrying about warranties??? If you want more HP, you are bound to break some rule, whether it be emissions, factory tolerances, who takes responsibility, etc . You want bigger HP on the aftermarket? you put 10K in the bank and if, or really when, something happens, you are "self insured". pay to play. Anyone selling an aftermarket part may warranty the "part" but the whole engine and drivetrain? crazy expectations. These companies are in business to a) make money and b)provide the HP people want, not warranty your car built on stock mass produced parts.
