The Saleen from HELL lives again!
So my first post on the board was a question asking what do you think happened to the 01 Saleen I purchased about a month ago. The scenario was me pulling out of a parking lot and lightly getting on the car shifting from 1st to 2ndat about 4K rpms and then CLANK. Well turns out I threw a rod. I called the dealer I bought the car from hoping and praying they would show some sympathy since the vehicle was out of warranty. (Right about this time I am asking myself WHY o WHY did I trade in my 04 GT)
Long story short I paid 1000 out of pocket for a new motor with a3 year 72000 mile warrantyto be placed into myonce againbeloved Saleen. The dealer paid over 3000.I go to pick the car up last Friday in Orlando and notice an oddwhoosh/clicking noise as I am pulling onto the interstate. Im rattling my brain thinking what it could be. It only does it when the engine is under load etc etc. AHA exhaust leak. I take the car today to the shop that does all the dealers work and an hour later I am as good as new.
Now I am one to give credit where credit is due so if your ever looking for Saleen/Cobra in the Central Fl area check out Blacks Automotive. This is in no way an advertisement! I am one happy customer due to the fact they went above and beyond in this situation.
So back to the car.....
Current mods:
2.7 SC inch pulley. Not sure what the mm is on this and to lazy to look right now
Magno Flow catback
Custom tune
Now let me ask you this, where can I get replacement front bumper numbers? The car checks out in the Saleen registry, don't worry.
Onto the pictures!!!!
