Alright, sorry if you guys get this a lot, but I trust you more than others.

What would you say a 2005 Saleen S281 (just appearance, not SC) would be worth? The dealer down the road has one with 1200 miles on it for $35,000 and I'm wondering how much markup they have on that. I've never really looked into the Saleen or Roush Mustangs so I have no idea what value they hold.

Edit: By the way, I know NADA says $35,000 is high retail, but I want to know what you guys think is a good price for it.

 

I'd try to get them down a couple thousand. But 1200 miles for a 2005 is practically brand new...

 

I bought my 05 S281 a year ago in fantastic condition with 1800 miles on it for $32k from a private party. The car you're looking at is now a year older (and technically about to be a 3-year old car) and the warranty will be up very soon. I definitely wouldn't go over $30k if I were you.

That car even with 1,600 miles on it should not be more than $30k. I bought my 06 new last September for 38. Try to find one from a private party so you are not paying for some salesmans new plasma tv and steak dinner.

This is very true. I forgot to add that the previous owner put about $1,300 in aftermarket in the car as well (tint, short throw shifter, $650 midpipe) so technically I was paying mid $32K's...

 

Didn't your car also come with an ignition breathalyzer Mickey? Something every young buck with a snazzy car should be required to have! [sm=joke.gif]

Haha the breathalizer wasnt in there! Actually the Saleen has made me barely drink at all now...So I guess it saves me money! haha

 

Alright, well thanks for the input. I wasn't going to pay that much if I did get it. I'd get him down at least a couple thousand, otherwise walk. Either way, I've decided to walk anyway because I think I really want a 4v. I think I'm gonna go Terminator instead. I love the look of the Saleens, but I would be worried about that look too much. Whatever I buy has to be my daily driver that I don't have to worry a ton about. For some reason I don't think I'd be as worried about a Terminator as a Saleen. I'll just keep envying you guys with your sexy cars.
