2011 Mustang Engine Specs Released!
By Chris Borrelli

"For everyone that has been upset by the Mustang GT’s current 4.6 litre engine and it’s lack of power cry no more! Ford has just released the engine specs for the 2011 base Mustang and Mustang GT. The base ‘Stang will get Ford’s current 3.7 litre V6 that is currently offered in some Lincoln models, but it will receive a bump in power to 315 HP (that’s 11 HP more than the V6 Camaro). Now for the best part, the 2011 Mustang GT will get a new 5.0 litre V8 stunting a whoppin’ 400 horsepower and a six speed manual transmission! Other news in the Mustang’s future are an aluminum block for the Shelby GT500, and a return of the BOSS! And no the Ecoboost is not planned to be used in the Mustang. Via Left Lane News"

So basically this looks a repost of this post:

Why post this as news if this is really old info?

Noobs don't read threads, or when they do, it's a 3 year old one! lol.
All this is great but I'll believe it when I see it...
And a 315hp base Mustang... how much will that cost?
If that car doesn't stay an affordable ride, it's the end of it.

I don't think the base Mustang will ever be a 'competitive' car compared to other vehicles with less liters and more HP. It would be nice and I hope those numbers are true, but like others have said, more HP = more $$$...except maybe for the srt-4
A v6 with 315hp? Seems a little too good to be true. Plus, I'm sure a lot of stock GT owners would be pissed (No offense) that a base Mustang could 'compete' with an older GT.
That's my worthless .2
