i give up. i click embed pic in post, upload my pics. The files were uploaded successfully.but where do they show up at?they do not show them in the message. the pics are well under 400kb and are jpg's. Are the pics supposed to show up when you preview your message? i am not this computer illiterate. or am i? [:'(]

You need to host the pics first on a web service such as imageshack.net or photobucket.com Once hosted they will give you a variety of html codes. You can't just copy a picture from your PC in the image code box.
Once hosted, copy the entire code tag for the one that says direct link to image for forums, and then in your message box click on the "Image" icon, it is the furthest to the right and directly above the text box. In that code box, delete the "http:..." and paste the link that you copied, and there you go
