CLUTCH PEDAL WIRING????
Hey im wiring a remote start for my stang. it works but only when the clutch is pushed. Im guessing there is a wire that disengages the starter unless the clutch is pushed. Which wire is this??
How do i test for it?
Thanks

look at your clutch pedal and you will see a white clutch safety switch with two connections on it, you need to loop both of those connections from one end to the other, careful to not ever leave the car in gear or you may wreck it.

i know its dangerous. Im trying to find the wires so i can make it safer.
Which ones are the wires that stop the starter when the clutch is out?

down on the clutch quadrant at the top there is a switch...when clutch is let out the switch is normally open...pushed in closed...it should be a two wire /prong switch ..if so disconnect and join two wires together...just remeber from that point on the car will start in gear/crank
this is what you are looking for to disconnect and rewire but like pro says it is a clutch SAFTEY switch

I agree with all of the above.. not really a good idea to do a remote start on a stick.... However if you do... Dont just jumper the clutch safety switch... Do it with a relay that is energized by the remote start setup.... it can be done fairly safely... but it happens all the time and I personally leave the car in gear and use the parking brake but that could still cause a mess if it was started remotely that way.
good luck...
