Default 2008 Cobra Jet Mustang

Based on the front page article (Click here to read it) what do you think of the new FR500CJ?

I think that its a cool idea, but 65,000 seems a little rich for a car that ix expected to run mid 11s...

For 65K I would rebuild my car and make it a lot faster than that thing.

Or for 65K I would buy a Lotus Exige S. <3

$65k does sound like much but another $5k in upgrades makes it a 9 second car (if they have the suspension setup correctly and it sounds like they do).

I see Ford's point in making it. A true dragstrip car with easy 600-1000+hp potential. Solid iron block hd engine for flogging at the track.

but ive wondered how many of them will actually see track time, compared to the people who are buying them as collectibles.

I think I would rather have the drag pack Challenger.

65k for a factory FoMoCo drag car?
Seems reasonable all things considered.

I prefer Shelby GT500 and will get one just as soon as my rich uncle gets out of the poor house.

Test Mule cars ran right around 9.80's.

I can also tell you that contrary to popular belief, these won't all be collector cars that never move. Serial# 1-4 will for sure see track time, and likely alot of it.

Sorry, but I think Ford could be spending money on better things right now. Im all for a faster Mustang but come on. Upgrade the GT's, or 6ers to make them faster from the factory.
