HXC, Blending is a way to "paint just the part not the whole car" way to paint a car, especially if the car is a few years old and has faded even a little bit. That way everything looks good from the front, side, etc.

Looks good. Question though. Lot of money spent.... and they didn't shave the antenna?

I felt a bit relieved thinking that it wasnt going to be as much work to get it prepared.

So I dropped the car off a week ago monday and when I got it on this past friday I was in disbelief. That car looks fantastic. They did an excellent job blending the paint onto the fenders to make it seem as if it were from the factory. The silver on the scope part of the hood looks good. Im gland I thought of doing this b/c I have not seen a hood done like this. Here are some pics. And for those of you wondering how much it cost to get this painted. It was 1200
That looks great! Great color scheme too! It doesn't surprise me that the hood was in good shape, my cervinis hood came in great condition as well. I have to agree with the others, chop off that antenna now and you'll have a complete front end!

Thanks guys, I knew why they blended paint, I just didn't understand how. As in I didn't know if they touched paint around what had been painted or not, just didn't click with me for some reason haha.

OP, do you have any idea what they would've quoted you had you not done the second color?

And OP, that makes sense $1200 since it is 2 colors on the hood!
u are right about what i mean by blending the paint. Its an 07 so it definetly needed the fenders repainted so that it was not obviouse the hood was painted alone. The price also includes them putting on the hood struts. Which i know isnt hard but it would be a real PITA to do by yourself. ANd the relocation kit. Of course thats easy too so the charges on that stuff were minimal.

The struts are a two stage so its neat to open the hood and watch it open on its own. It definetly beats using the prop. I know this is hardly worth mentioning but I guess even the small things can be enjoyeable.

Nope I didnt ask but it would have been interesting to know. When I called them I told them what I wanted to do as far as blending the paint and not just painting the hood. They too the (shop) never even mentioned just painting the hood which I surprised but I made it clear I wanted this too look good from all sides. I think someone mentioned 600 dollars to paint the hood only but Im not sure. It was a post on this thread.
