Hey guys here you go. I wrote the article below about 3 years ago. Kerns put me on to this while deployed to Afghanistan. Between him and I we pieced everything together in about three months. The goal was to do it for around 1500 bucks but I added a couple upgrades so as you see everything total was 2100 bucks. Mods listed below are what you will need to FI your car. I put the location where the part was bought and the price that I paid (You might find it for less). It's not that hard believe me.

Go with suspension first. Makes drivability that much more fun for now until you can save up for some power later on.

I'm still looking at suspension as well, planning on tower braces and sway bars first, any recommendations after that? And like I said, not gonna drag it really, just gonna ride some corners. Also, about the s/c build, I didn't see and upgraded throttle body or plenum, are they needed? 75mm or so? And expected torque and nd hp to the wheels gain I mean I realize every car is different, just want an approximation thanks

 

Subframes would be a good bet. Make sure you get the welded ones though. Also my build price stated above did include a 75MM accufab to and plenum. As fas as my numbers. I was hoping to make 400 to the wheels but due to a bad fuel pump and a really bad exhaust leak I could only manage 383 to the wheels with 340 ft lb of torque. I did have cams though.

 

So I'd be looking at around 340 the wheels horsepower wise, and torque is my favorite haha but yeah sorry about that, didn't see it and I actually already had the connectors on my list ( welded ones)

 

Get springs or coil overs first. You'll feel those the most.

 

Even more than the sway bars?

 

Also what about the rating on the springs on the coil overs? And springs or coil overs first?

^^I ran this setup on my 2004 GT and it worked quite well, without destroying my bank account. I'd definitely recommend this type of setup.
