While Ford has not announced exactly what the 2018 Mustang GT will run in terms of a 0-60 time, the Motor Company has announced that with the new 10-speed automatic transmission, the new 5.0L V8 with 460hp and the new Drag Strip Mode, the newest Mustang GT will dash from 0-60 in less than 4 seconds. It seems likely that if that number were, say, 3.6 or 3.7, the company would have stated the exact number, but my guess is that with good traction, the 2018 Mustang GT will hit 60 from a stop in 3.9 seconds.
Going back to the 1960's Mustangs, It's amazing how much 0-60 has come down. But the price of that has gone up for that so much?
Not just 0-60 but quarter mile as well. A low 14 second car used to be considered to be pretty quick, and I think the '71 Boss 351 had the quickest quarter mile time of the classic Mustang era at like 13.5 or so.
Now, a freakin minivan can dip into the 14's lol. 13 second cars (like mine) are nothing special at all.
As far as price, well it was a bit before my time but we've all heard how a Coke used to cost a nickel. I'm no economist and the subject is probably best left for discussion elsewhere on this site, but in my estimation the practice of currency devaluation and the various forms that takes over the last 50+ years is the cornerstone of why a Coke costs much more than a nickel today.
