Default 2008 v6 mustang getting hot while idling.

Hi everyone first time poster here. I have a 2008 v6 mustang that is having a slight problem while idling. When I'm in traffic , or going under 20 mph, with the ac on, the thermostat kicks up to almost hot. As soon as I start driving , it goes back down to normal, which is the middle. This recently started after driving it on a long trip to Lake Tahoe. The car seemed to be radiating a lot of heat under neath the shifter. I had the ac on the whole time while driving. Didn't have a problem until I got back home. It only seems to occur while in traffic, or idling. I have a feeling it's because the fan is not kicking on when it needs to. Any ideas/suggestions? Any help appreciated

Is your fan working properly? It sounds like it might not be kicking on like it should, which would explain why it cools down once you get rolling.
