Where to get a high quality replacement Shelby decal kit?
Just got a 2008 Shelby with 50k miles on it. It runs great but some of the stripe decals need to be replace, especially up front where the bugs hit it. I have a friend that works in parts at a Ford dealership, he's going to get me pricing but indicates that they're sold in separate pieces not an entire kit and said some pieces may be hard to get.
I may just replace some that show wear but if I want an entire kit what should I do? I spoke with a guy that runs a mustang shop and he said the American Muscle decals are low quality vinyl so want to avoid low quality or bad fitting decals. He recommended Ford OEM decals, I just wish they had a full set.

Is it a Shelby GT500 or a Shelby GT ?
.
You can get the correct stripes for a GT500 from Ford, they are very expensive.
.
Correct stripes for a Shelby GT are only available from SAI, provided you have the correct documentation, maybe you can buy some.

Its a GT500. I found a place called Graphics Express that has a 2005-2009 GT500 stripe kit that is $386, might be good quality. My buddy that works at Ford warned me that the OEM stripes are expensive and some are hard to get. I may just replace the once absolutely necessary with the OEM stripes but replacing them all might match better.

Also here's another nice set that is pre-cut and contoured just for the 05-09 GT500.

I was hoping someone would chime in saying they've tried one of these brand and had good luck. Not wanting to be product tester.

Are you talking about the picture in my signature? That's my wife's old 2005 GT, we just got her the 2008 GT500 last weekend, it's also torch red but with black stripes. She's a creature of habit, she's had 3 red mustangs, a 96 convertible 6 cylinder, then the 2005 GT and now a 2008 GT500.

Factory stripes are tapered, front to back. ( the wide ones are ) to compensate for how your eye sees a straight line on a non flat surface.
The stripes on my 14 are:
10" @ the grille end of the hood.
10 3/4" @ the windshield end of the hood.
The stripes on the trunk are 11".
The space between the stripes is constant - 1 1/2"......Just in case you didn't know !!

Well I learned something today. I didn't know they were tapered.
On a side note I don't know why Ford has to be a bunch of greedy pigs. Even at my buddy's cost a new set of decals is over $2k. Seems like I read they may be painted vinyl instead of just plain vinyl but still that's crazy. You can get painted stripes for $1200-$1500. If I just wanna repair the chipped up lower stripes on the front bumper I may get the Ford stripes but I sure as hell ain't buying a full set.
