Default Maryland performance shops

Well i just got my gears in and now i need a shop to install them. Ive talked with about 5 shops in maryland and all the shops say its gonna cost $400 just for install. Can someone give me a decent shop that will install them for less of a price.

I went to a performance shop across the street in crofton, they told me $600 for everything, gears, shims and install.
I read other threads from people in different states and it seems, their shops were alot cheaper 200-300 installation.
There's alot of price gouging going on around here in MD for some reason.
If you do find a place any cheaper I would like to know.good luck

I can tell you to damn sure avoid Mt Airy Motors or as they are also known Total Performance. Their so called master tech couldn't find his *** if you shot him in it let alone tune your car. They talk a good game about their mustang dyno but the guy can't tune worth a damn. Then theres the matter of asking them for an estimate to have something done. It seems all they know how to say is time and materials. What kind of BS is that? They can't give somebody and estimate so we're expected to just hand over our cars and wait to find out how much it is going to cost. Screw that. They jacked up a friends car so bad that street tuning it the thing ran better. They told a friend that his Camaros Auburn LSD install was going to take them 9.5hrs. Who the hell takes 9 1/2 hours to install a rear LSD in a 2000 Camaro? Avoid them like the plague! If your in Mt Airy or near it take the car to York Auto and ask for Ed York. The man knows all kinds of cars and is even a ranked road racer as well as the place your required to go to locally for your road racing tech inspection.

It's pretty hard to find a good shop that doesn't like to hear themselves talk. Me and my partner own a company called
On the Ground Performance in Eldersburg, and we are a race chassis shop. We don't get a whole lot of customers for parts, which is really weird because we have really great prices on parts- and as far as labor goes- you get what you pay for. You want crappy work, go to eip or auto sound or total performance- we are a real race shop-
