Default No Speaker

I don't know if anybody else's SSP has the same thing, but while taking off my 1993 ex-Highway Patrol 5.0's door panel I thought I would fix the blown speaker that was in the driver's side. Come to find out it has a foam block off plate over it and the wire was taped up. Anyone else's SSP like this? I figure it has somthing to do with them being able to hear their scanner over the radio.

Myex-Florida Highway PatrolSSPalso had foam where the speakers should have been. They probably did this to cut down on costs and reduce the weight of the vehicles. Also the reason why most had no hood insulation and manual windows/door locks etc. Overall a low optioncar.

Is your SSP a marked unit? Do you know where in Florida yourSSP was at? Do you know the Unit # of your SSP? I was just wondering. I have a 93 FHP that is in my sig.
