Default Throttle cable?

Could I use a throttle cable from an 85 or older car when I put my carb on?

What length would be good either way?

Is this just a plate that goes right onto the carb like a very small spacer? Where will i be able to find the correct throttle cable. Will a cable out of an 84 work as well? Ive got a holley650 with a street dominator intake on my 87. Is all i need the summit bracket and the 85 cable?

I used the throttle cable from a 85gt on my 88 notch with a bracket I bought from Advance Auto Parts, I think I paid right at $35 for all of it new. I do have a question for Portmaster regaurding the AOD and this setup. I do not have the kick down hooked up, I have a good idea of what all I need(Lokar tv cable and some sort of bracket). My question is what exactly is it that I need other than the Lokar unit?

Do you know the part number or anything for the part you got at advance? Will i be able to just walk in and get everything i need or at least have it ordered?
Thanks,
Colin

The manual and automatic cables are different length, if you have a T5 get one for a manual 85 gt, I have an AOD so I got one from a automatic 85 gt. The Bracket was a off the shelf universal throttle cable bracket and it mounted w/o any problems to my performer intake.

The one in the photo is for the AOD. The universal bracket also came with a kickdown cable bracket as well.
