Default Conversion questions

So I just recently picked up a 93 notch 4 cylinder that I'm either gunna drop a 5.0 or 5.8 in.
So the question is what's the bare min. I need out of the electrical with the motor and tranny.(carbed auto) the dash doesn't work so I'm not really worried about it I'm gunna get all new gauges.

well for the engine you have

distributor wiring
choke wiring
alternator wiring

if you run an aftermarket ignition box you just need power and ground wires, the coil needs power and grounds, tach runs from negative coil wire, and the distributor wiring comes from the ignition box.

then depends on if you want to try and use stock gauges or use mechanic. The temp gauge wiring is on the motor harness but the oil pressure is on the body harness

I'm think all my gauges are gunna be mechanical. Can you explain to me more about the dist choke and alt wiring... I think I've got the alt pretty much figured out but I could be wrong. I know quite a bit about normal 5.0 but the whole carbed thing is new to me. Have never really messed around with them b4 so I'm on a learning curve
