I recently rebuilt my engine and about 3 months after putting it back in the car I've come about a symptom i can't diagnose. Between 2000-3000rpms, regardless of speed, the whole car starts vibrating in a pulsing manner, along with the vibration comes a pretty major wobble in the steering wheel. At first i thought it was maybe inbalanced tires causing the wobble, but i dont see why that would happen regardless of speed and specific to an rpm range. Any help appreciated. Thanks!

 

check to see if your harmonic balancer is coming apart. does the vibration happen sitting still as well?

 

Hows your motor mounts? What mods do you have?

 

mustangsneverdie: do you mean is the harmonic balancer pulling off the crank or coming apart as in the harmonic balancer itself.

projectresto83: the mounts dont look too bad, I think they were replaced withing the past few years. as for mods, not too many under the hood. it has heads off of a 351, edlebrock performer rpm intake, i think the cam may have been replaced before i bought the car, but im not positive. And im not sure if it has the stock carb but its a holley 600.

 

Yes if its comin apart
