adjustabl control arms
I have a 1985 mustang that has been gutted and made into a race car it has a 351 windsor with 13 to 1 compression. My question is that i am thinking about putting adjustable control arms on the back and everybody keeps sayin that i need to watch the pinion angle and i just want to know how hard they are to set up and adjust and if in the car it will make a difference my best time so far this year has been an 11.88 and it is cutti 1.6 60 ft times i just need to get some advice . CAN ANYBODY HELP????????? THANX
As far as adjusting pinion angle, that is not too difficult to adjust. It is just with a turn of a wrench on the upper control arm threaded ends...
Measuring pinion angle can be another task. Many products and methods have come along. If you search "measuring pinion angle" on google, many @ home mechanics have posted tried and true methods for measuring pinion angle.
As far as selecting the correct angle... that will come with testing and experience from the track. Every single car is different, because weight, power, spring rates, shocks, etc. all affect how certain pinion angle measurements will change your specific car...
Sincerely,

BMR fabrication makes some badass adjustable uppers and lowers. The main point of of the adjustable's is to correct the pinion angle when you lower the car or want to race it in ur case. the site is www.bmrfabrication.com ....they should have anything u want www.maximummotorsports.com is also a good company....
