rear axle
first time, don't know if i'm in the right place. I have a stock 94 GT and my back tires are bald in the inside, (the car has never been in a accident) I took it to a local mechanic and he said that the axle was probably bent and that I needed to buy a new axle or at least a used one in a junk yard. I took it to another mechanic he took a look at it and told me that it might just be the bushings, has anyone had this problem?
Were the tires ever rotated? Could it be that you're looking at the rear tires, which may have previously been the front, from a tire rotation??
Usually the back tires have an even tire wear due to the solid axle keeping both tires on the ground pretty evenly.
It would be impossible to diagnose a bent axle over the net, but that could sound like an explanation, although its hard to say. Have you checked your front tires?? Are they bald on the inside as well?
