driveshaft hitting e-brake bracket
drive shaft hits bracket with 2 people and full tank, pushing down on tail of car it goes down a ways but shocks rebound right up and stay no bouncing. just bought car but doesn't look lowered. do lowered cars have this problem. do i need new shocks.
There is two options for you...
1. move the ebrake cable slightly...
2. get new shocks in the rear (which will improve the ride and help prevent some of the rubbing).
If you have a 94 with OEM shocks, guaranteed... 100% they are worn and you should get new shocks...
Sincerely,

I am having the same problem with my 94 v6. I have already replaced the shocks and have pulled the springs they are 13 free length (uncut)and 150lbs spring rate. The bushings show there age but shows no excessive signs of wear. With car at ride height there is less then 2" clearance at the pbrake bracket. I looked at both motor mounts and the trans mount look fine also. I am really stumped on this one.
Dont know if anyone is still looking for information on this, but I had this problem with 2 94 GTs the tack welds on the e-brake cable bracket break and the bracket bends down and rubs on the drive shaft when the suspension is loaded. I had it welded back multiple times on my 5-speed, but the auto I just hammered it up out of the way and I dont use the e-brake unless absolutely necessary... If i do use it I have to hammer it back up to get it to quit rubbing.
I have a similar problem I'm trying to resolve. I don't know if the problems I have are related. Need some help.
My driveshaft rubs up top as well in three places. Under weight I get a grinding noise while accelerating, and recently I have a loud vibration whenever I accelerate and even when decelerating, whether the clutch is engaged or disengaged. As if that isn't enough, my ebrake is not working at all. Those other two noises seem to be coming from directly below the ebrake or very near it. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
Edit: I was also previously missing a transmission mount bolt, which I have since replaced.

i had the grinding problem too, although not completely solved, is substantially better.
The e-brake bracket was indeed pulled away from the car, so I hammered it up and put a metal plate on the interior of the car above the bracket and put few rivets in it.
That didnt solve the problem, but I did feel better that I did that. I found that the e-brake cables were rubbing on the driveshaft b/c I could see wear the outer sheaths of the cables were wearing away. So I got some pipe hangers from the home improvement store and secured the cable closer to the body. The hangers I got looked like this :
and i was able to either put a screw on both sides, or when that was not convenient, bend the hanger around the cable and secure it with 1 screw.
I can now have 3 people +full tank and it scrapes when I hit a larger bump at speed. (but I rarely have more than 2 people in the car anyway) I do plan on putting a few more hangers in when I get a chance tho.
I know this is kinda half-assed/backyard-mechanic way of fixing it, but I'm a college student so money is scarce and it seems to work. Let me know if you have any questions.

94 gt h@r race springs, tokico d-spec shocks and struts, steeda front sway bar, hotchis upper and lower rear control arms, MM caster camber plates, full energy suspension bushing, steeda bumpsteer kit, ford racing aluminium driveshaft.
