Hey all, I have a 1997 5 speed GT. My boss just bought a black 2004 mustang V6 automatic, absolutely gorgeous, but he said he can beat me in a race. I told him he's full of it, and he bets his paycheck against mine that I'll lose. What do you all think?

I had a chance to look his car up and down and the only mod is blue glowing pedal covers. My car has flowmaster cat-back and a 2" suspension drop... and of course da V8..

the new V6s are a lot stronger then any other V6 the mustang has ever had.. either way i do think you will take him, you should be at a mid-high 14 and i wont give him the benefit of breaking out of 15s, so id put my money on you.. just dont get cocky and fuc8 up a shift, he cant do that so be careful how you drive...

 

yeah.. he has the 3.8L OHV engine though... it's not that ballsy of an engine. I do know the 4.0L OHC engine has some snap, but eh


I figure we'll eventualy race... he said it's quick which I don't doubt, but the 3.8 hasn't really changed much lately

oh **** i misread i thought you said an 05 v6, my mistake, you will no doubt take him, no doubt what-so-ever

 

yes you will beat him no question ask.. even wit a slow 97 GT, ull still pull on him pretty good, that and the fact that u have a manual vs his automatic.

 

haha cool that's what I thought. Yeah I know the 05 v6s are pretty badass for only a v6...


sweet... His car is VERY clean very good looking though... mine's quicker tho!

sadly compared to the modern japanese v6 cars, the 05 +v6 is pretty crappy, but eh i suppose its better than the one in our cars

 

You will take him. Keep the eyes open cause if you mess up shifting or launching it may be real close. If everything goes right in that respect you should be paid for four weeks of work for only two weeks of actual work.

P.S. If he is willing to race for a paycheck, you may want to research to see if he may have run some juice in there secretly. Normally, if people will race for some real cash, they are modded or just ignorant of their car's capapbilities.

 

i just hope he doesnt have that "my car is newer than yours, therefore its faster" logic. if so, hell be in for a nice surprise
