SO.. what do all of you think I will run? Going to be on Yoko street tires so might have some traction issues at first. I hope to break this streak of SN95's doing poorly and breaking down at the track thats been going on.. Emann.. T-rex....

Lol, I hope I am running atleast that. I can usualy launch pretty well. This is my first time to the track in this car but I have been quite a few times in previous cars.
One funky thing though.. they changed the track rules and now require a helmet for anyone running a 13.99 or lower in the 1/4. Used to be like a 12.5? Thats just.. a pain in the ****.

my track its a helmet no matter what....ummmm u might run a 14.6... then get down to a 14.0 depending... Speaking of SN-95s breakin down... my 96 cobra broke down at the track on friday.... had to tow it home... but my ride on the flat bed was free... hahahah AAA ..... wow 3 SN-95s so far... thats wieerd...

Well, we show up at the track... almost no spectators... no.. probably 20 bikes, all the junior dragsters were running, and 65 or more cars. Its only open for 5-6 hours today.. so yeah. I got a whopping 4 runs in.. with atleast an hour between each run. I managed to scan 2 time slips, a taco bell recipt, and I will post the only 2 movies my friens managed to take of my car out of 4 runs. I bring a camera... my friend spectating takes NO pics, and 4 videos total... yeah.. fun times.
First run was by FAR my best run. I decided I would take it easy since the car just made a 50 mile trip to the strip and I got in line right away to run. Soooo, I get in line.. and what am I next to? An 05 Mustang GT. Found out later its an automatic. We line up, we have the street style tree, not the pro tree, so we get 3 seperate yellows then Green. I ease into it a bit, very little spinning, Shift right about 6100, not taking it to the max, and I manage to run a 14.02. Basicaly a 14 flat with a 60' time of 2.20. Was by far my best time of the night and I figured out why later... I could have easily beaten it later but noooo, I'm a dumbass. And what pisses me off most? When I got home and went to pull out my time slips... what do I have? my next 2 races.. and a damn taco bell recipt. I managed to throw away my best f'n slip [:@][:@][:@]. Yeah.. not good times. least I had witnesses. I actualy won this race.. the GT ran a 14.4 with a 2.3x 60' He never got below the 14's either. Most cars were running a little slower then they thought they would be actualy. I saw a mach 1 with CAI, Exhaust, and DR's only hit 13.8 best. Saw quite a few LS1 marrows in mid-low 13's with some very minor mods as well. Only saw a few marrows or modded mustangs run in the 12's... but its the first run of the year on this track so the surface probably wasnt the greatest and it rained a little earlier htis morning.

Second run: Vs a dodge turbo diesel pickup. Almost got to run the GT again. He was in the left lane behind the dodge. I ran a pretty crappy time.. 14.7 with a terrible 60' (or so I thought at the time...). I was having trouble with the launch. I was getting off the line well enough but when I caught I bogged. I couldnt launch any higher.. and I didnt want to launch any lower.. I would have killed for a set of slicks right then. Same thing happend in the 3rd run. Anyways, I did this at a whopping 92mph because, lucky me, I managed to somehow bounce fuel cutoff, (7000RPM) because I ran out of 4th.. Dont ask me how it happened, I really dont know. I was nowhere near tapping the revlimit any other times. I did it with about 100' of track left. I think this run could have been much better.. well obviously. Me = not happy... but I have no idea what is coming to me. Again.. least I won this as well.
3rd run: I WISH they got this one on video. It was a TA/LS1.. or so I thought. I couldnt hear him, but I just thought he was stock. Car said TA. Looked like a WS6 in looks in every way it could. I have this time slip as well. Not bad. I managed not to bounce the fuel cutoff this time.. It felt like a very good run.. I thought I managed to get a nice solid high 13.. nope. 14.5@99. Baffled I was. [:@][:@]. And it was a flat out slaughter. I killed it worse then I got killed in the next run.. Turned out to be a v6. Dude had his helmet on (which wasnt required if you ran a 14 or higher).. so I really thought I was in for a butt kicking.
4th run: Hell. Pure adult rated hell. Of course, it's one of the only 2 videos I have. I talked to a few guys who were also on streets. We were all going to try to just make a run like we would at a stop light since none of us could get very good 60's getting on it.. meaning no waterbox or burn out... Yes sir I am a dumbass. What happens? Well, I pull up to the line with tires that are sitting for well over an hour. WELL over an hour. They are ... COLD. So.. what happens? I launch like normal. First gear? 10'. Second gear? 45'. 3rd gear? probably about 200'... and bogged when I FINALLY hooked good enough. You cant really tell from the video.. they arent squeeling so bad on it.. but I was looooose as I could possibly be going down the track. Yeah... 3.6 60' with a 16 flat. NEVER. DOING. THAT. AGAIN. I'm fry'n them suckers every time from here on out. I ate the time slip. No lie. Crumpled it up, threw it in my mouth, chewed it up, and swalloed. I was beyond angry.
So.. yeah. not happy. If someone wants to buy a cobra, the first 8750 gets it. Covers the cost of the car, taxes, and insurance. Not even throwing in the cost of the gears. Lol, I'll probably change my mind tommorrow.. but I ran a damn 16.. I cant even look at her right now. She feels.. dirty. I woulda lost to a damn... ANYTHING.
I figured out my issues though.. and why my times were so much worse after my first run. I came home.. and looked at my dyno sheet. I forgot.. I am making max HP right around 5800RPM.. I should have been shifting at 6k-6200... instead of wasting time taking it up to 66-6800 RPMS. It killed me. It really did. [:@] I swear I shoulda ran so much better then I did.. I KNOW I can run in the 13's on streets..
