Also I have another question for you. Do they make X pipes for the V6? I have only seen H pipes (unless I can use a V8 X pipe on my car).

ORIGINAL: Jonny Lightning
He picked up what I think is a VTEC controller (could've been a boost controller?) and started revving it up.

Nice kill and all but a lil off topic, is there a VTEC controller? Does it just control what RPM's the valves open or w/e the hell VTEC does.

Yes there is a VTEC Controller, it allows you to control what RPM VTEC engages, you can set it to whatever you want, but messing with it by turning it to a lower rpm may cause you to run lean and burn your valves like a motha... turning it to a higher rpm may cause you to fall off the high lobes onto a shift. (i.e. if i redline 1st and shift into second gear, my tach falls at 5700 rpm, since my vtec engages at 5500 rpm, I stay on the high lobes)

Normal Vtec on b series switch to the high lobes around 5500 rpm, S2000s switch over at 6500 rpm. That is by far one of my favorite features on this car...I just love hearing it switch over...sounds like a mini nitrous system.

Just think if Honda built a VTEC with about 6L of displacement, can ya say Viper killer? Other than that, Im not terribly amused, but its a cool idea, it just needs a bigger engine and larger cams...

larger cams would cause over lap. which is bad. you can stuff air in, but if the cams stay open too long then it'll start to push it right back out.

The NSX has a 3.0 V6 with 280 hp...they run mid 13s stock I believe, can you imagine some FI on that engine? It'll run right along with the Viper and Z06.
