Its been a good month so far for me.. seeing more races this month then I saw all of december/jan/feb combined.

Anyways was on my way out to my parents house on a highway in the middle of nowhere... I see a truck pull up behind me and just start tailgating me like mad.. so I push it to 85.. still on my ***... So I drop it into 4th and take it to about 120 (this usualy stops the idiots from riding my bumper on that highway)... He wasnt on my *** anymore.. but he was far from way behind me... anyways I slow it down to about 85 again to see if he's going to keep tailgateing me or if he will get the point.... and he gets right back on my bumper. So I keep slowing down to let the guy pass.. he was being pretty persistant about staying with me.. and of course.. he doesnt. We come to an area where the road widens to a passing zone so its 2 lanes in each direction divided.. the guy pulls out next to me and gets on it. Was a silver lightining.. I know he was wanting to play now.. so I downshift into 3rd trying to catch him.. key word TRYING. I saw nothing but taillights.. I did pull a little on him after we got over 110.. he shut down about 120 so I did as well.. he didnt play around anymore after that.

Well the guy takes the same turn I do.. he lives on the same road as my parents out in the middle of nowhere so when he turned into his driveway I pulled over to talk to him. THe guy was pretty cool, It was an 99 silver lightning, all original. Automatic (I htink they all were?). Said he would go from a dig if I wanted to run him.. and I declined.. I didnt need another hit to my confidence in my car again this soon. lol, that probably wouldnt have even been close.

Anyways I know I will probably hear it for street racing at those speeds. but it was a very wide open highway. No traffic on the road at all and only some farming zone crossroads. Good empty place to play.. nothing but open fields on either side pretty much. And I figured, what the hell, with some of the outrageous kill storys that have gone on this board the last 2 days I might as well post my death so I could get mocked [8D]

 

Not so bad, I lost to that F-350 turbo diesel, so at least there's a couple of us on here telling the truth about our races

I would really like to come across someone with a Lightning. I would have gone for the race from the dig... for me it's not about winning, but just the racing and having a good (and hopefully safe) time... if someone has a faster car/truck than me, I tend to have respect for them (provided they aren't being a douchebag). That's how you get a local car club started

I was going fast racing that F-350 too, though, 110ish, and it was a bit crowded... but we slowed down and backed up traffic for a while before racing [8D]

 

Man I thought you would have pulled on a bone stock lightning. you are around 315hp and the motor and he is at 320. U sure he didnt have exhaust, pulley, anything???? I thought a cobra would keep up with one. Maybe not. I got descimated by a lightning on the highway coming home from the drag strip one night. turns out he was full bolt ons+pulley and running low 12's.

 

Nice death, I figured you would have him, but he must have some mods to run that good.

 

Those suckers are either 360 or 380 hp depending on the year.. I started pulling back on him when we got to the point where wind resistance was screwing with him.. He also had a solid tonneau cover so that helped a little against the wind. But no way I woulda had him from a dig.
