another kill u wont believe
ok, well I know can tell that a kb cobra even a low psi is a very low 12 second car, and a mid psi and pulleys (whick wouldnt make sense not to put on) is in the 11's. I know this because the owner of a performance in miami has that exact st up in his lighting. And I watched him run 12.2's on low psi kb at moroso.
It still should be in the low 12's. And it should be beating your car IF it is a kb which is doubtful. I am not doubting your high 12's mustang because when it goes beyond 5.0's I dont know much about them nor claim too, I am doubting the lighting.

...buuut...a low boost (key: LOW boost to me is <14psi in this case) setup on a KB does NOT nec mean low 12s unless the suspension has been worked on, it has good tires, and the driver knows his car (well, truck). ive raced 2 lightnings in my day. one was stock and one had intake/pullied/exhaust/dyno tune. the only difference between the races that i can recall is that the stock one disappeared into my rear view mirror about twice as fast. the driver of the modded one said it ran 13.2 or something, and kept bragging about his buddy who had almost the same setup and ran 12.9 and was the "bestest dangnabbit times had been crossed my eyes" /hickvoice. fact is the 5.4 in those trucks wont last long at high boost anyways unless some work is done them, a number of my friends know people who blew them with smaller pullies trying to do what other friends had no problem doing in their cobras for extra power.
you are saying that a 4300lbs truck runs almost as well as its 3400lbs cobra counterpart with the same amount of power (half a second or so diff)? i mean its more than possible and i do not doubt at all your friend ran 12.2 because ive heard of 10second lightnings before...but it just seems against the odds to run 11s so easily it being a truck and all :dunno:
Well I am pretty sure he had no suspension work done, he just baught it and the kb was the first thing he put on it. I will ask him next time I talk to him to make sure and see if he still has his timeslips.
When I got my car tuned at Kauffmans in PA, I went out to lunch with the owner. His "everyday" ride was a pullied Lightning. He got on it several times and there was no mistaking the sound of his blower (really cool whine as oppossed to my car's whistle). I would imagine you would hear a KB as well, which I can't in the video. I am not saying that it's not there, I just can't hear it. Anyone else?
