alright so i'm driving down the freeway on my way to a car show in Chicago and i'm with my two buddies one has a evo and the other has a eclipse that has a T-67 trim turbo i believe(hes got 385 at the wheels). Were just driving down on our way to the show and my buddy in the evo rolls up next to me and said lets go so i told him to start it out(because we didn't want to make ourselves look the obvious with the three honks). So he starts to go he said he dropped it into 3rd so i dropped mine into the same and he took off then i took off. I just killed him(this was from a 70 roll) about 5 or 6 lengths before 4th gear then he gave up. Then my buddy in his eclipse so that race and decided me and him would go(hes been scared because he doesn't want to admit that anything is faster then his car). So we start from a 70 roll this time we looked at each other and put our fingers up and were doing 1 2 3 ok. We both punch it at the same time and we were neck and neck the whole time until i shifted into 4th then i started to pull on him. But, i thought it was awesome that just the other day i was complaining about how I never get any races and today i get two. Give me your input.

 

nice wins. the EVO stock ?? from a roll, unless theyre modded, theyre not that fast. awd slows 'em down. the Eclipse though, NICE WIN. sounds like a fast lil car to keep up with you side by side until you shifted into 4th....WOW. again, congrats on the wins.

 

yes the evo was stock. Yeah and thanks my buddies car is very fast and until i had the cobra is was the fastest car i've even been in, but he can't get traction until 3rd. Where is I get some DR's and i'll be giving him a new one from a dig. I bet i could right now because like I said his traction is nonexsistent in first and second floored.

 

thats crazy.....especially for an eclipse, altho, one of the import mags did a "buildup" of imports with turbo's, and the '95-'99 Eclipse gained the most hp per dollar, beating the RX7 turbo, the Supra, and a couple others. is his that style, or the '00+ style ?? 4-cyl or V6(if its the new style)...

 

yeah its a 97 or 98 I think. So yes it is the older style. I like the older style better ne ways.

 

do you know its a GS-T or a GSX ?? im guessing GS-T......fwd turbo, but, less weight, so, they had way better top end than the GSX's....all they were good for was a holeshot. nice cars though either way.

 

yeah its a GS-T not a GSX. I prob would've killed him from the roll because of AWD in the GSX, but maybe not because hes done so much work. Hes gonna get a stroker dropped in soon. I think 2.4 stroker, but i no nothing about dsm's.

yeah, you wouldve slaughtered him still if it was a GSX due again, to the extra weight. it should run REALLY good when he gets that stroker. 2.4 sounds about right i think. they make a 2.4 stroker for the EVO's, so, same engine.......you MIGHT have your hands full then, unless u get more mods b4 you run that setup.

 

oh i will definately get my mods before he does that. So I shouldn't have to worry about it too much.
