Went to my hometown tonight and got in a couple races. Raced my buddies 2000 LS1 trans am that I had raced just before the blower, and raced a COCKY *** GTO driver.

My buddy with the LS1 is cool, we raced a few times from a 50~ roll out on the highway on the way to my parents house. His car is stock, but I got it on video as a nice before/after comparason. Before he would hang with me for a bit from a lower roll (20-30~) before I started putting him away. Now it is just instant pull, never lets up a bit thru the top of 4th.

The GTO driver spotted us driving down the local strip and chased us down. The first words out of his mouth were "You wanna drag race that piece of **** I will wax your ***" lol. I honestly looked over and asked him "How about for 100 bucks". He has this majorly pissed off look on his face and says "I don't give a F" etc etc.

The first race we went from about a 15 MPH roll (cars coming behind us). It was a total rape. As soon as I hit the gas instant pull and it never stopped. Had to have at least 5 cars on him by the time I shifted into 4th.

Guy pulls up to me and says, and I quote (important later) "I missed a gear"!

Second race was from down around 5 MPH. Same result. I acutally pulled into his lane after 3rd cause the road was going to 2 lane a ways ahead.

Pulled over afterwards and he did too. He kept saying **** like "It was cutting out above 4500 RPMs, and then he opened his hood and made a big show of looking around.

I looked over the car, and asked him what year it was. He said it was a 05. Thats kinda funny, cause it had a 5.7L sticker on the back of it

I also noticed one other thing. It was a AUTOMATIC. So he "missed a gear" in the first race in a automatic?? rofl.

Never did see anything of that 100 bucks though. Hmmmm.....

 

So what was the outcome of these races, I think you forgot to mention it. And what times are you runnin with all those mods done?

Oh and no 1/4 mile times yet, only had the blower for a few weeks.

 

Some guys say the auto GTOs are a bit faster...Nice kill..He probably lives in your area so he wont be ricing his way out of this one.Everytime he sees u now hell probably act like he doesnt see u....Thats being assumed by his' no honor, upon being ripped" attitude

I also almost made a very bad mistake tonight. I saw a cobra go by when i was sitting in a neighborhood and went up to talk to him. Kinda sorta asked for a race, and he said his car was not tuned in correctly and running rich, so no fun.

Good thing to. Was a 03 with full exhaust, intake boltons, a ported eaton, and some other work. Carbon fiber hood, looked like he had the intercooler upgrade on there, with a aftermarket tank etc. Said it put down 484 RWHP before the last few mods, and he was hoping to make 525 when he gets it dialed in soon. And that was before the nitrous!! He was talking a 100 shot.

He had some sort of SCT software on his computer he was using to tune the car. He offered to show it to me but i just didn't have time. Guy seemed really cool, but I am glad he didn't have his tune right, cause I don't need that blow to my ego so soon after getting the blower on.

Yeah if he put down almost 500 to the wheels, you probably would get beat, but probably not by much. After my car is paid off I plan on getting a forged short block and add a KB.

 

Yeah...that cobra was probably makin a bit more hp than he said and hes got a few tickets and didnt want to run..The blower porting would be 45-80 hp over stock alone.The SCT softwear tuned the last king of the street winner[black 04 snake with twin turbos makin 874 rwhp]That car was probably very fast,so youre keen and not like most guys who get a little hp and now they can snipe anybody..it would have been cool just to see what the car could do though

Even if the Cobra was making 480rwhp, it would still have been a good race b/w the two. I used to roll over them when they were pullied/bolt-ons/tune and I was only making 367rwhp/401rwtq. I'd consistantly run .4 or so quicker in the 1/8, but they'd trap around what I did.
