A Firebird is a V6. A Firebird Formula is a V8. A TransAm is a V8. A TransAm Firehawk is a V8. That's it. I looked at your car domain and you said you were hoping for 14.7s. I don't know what you're running now, but you could have beasted a V6. A V8, on the other hand, running on seven cylinders would take you. Assuming, of course, we're talking about a 4th generation, and not a 3rd gen.

In 1989 they made a V6 Trans Am that was faster than the V8, faster than any Trans Am until 1998 when the LS1 was introduced, and even then it was really close (low-mid 13's).

Why GM won't go forced induction is beyond me....they already make the greatest small block known to the human race, they produced the GN's and GNX's back in the day....just throw me a forged LS1 and a turbo the size of my head....hello 1000rwhp.

not sure on what was under the hood but none the less he got smoked

young kid who i work with owns it. never said anything to me but i heard him over talking to another guy saying his car needed engine work.

well i never said anything to him and i was cruising on the highway 2nite goin about 55 cus its wet (speed limit is 65) so im slow poking it and he flies by me. atleasting goin 90 and he slows down and i speed up and so does he. so im like alrite im not playin this game on the highway with wet roads so i slow back down to 55.

turns out he took my exit. whos waiting at the light? the firebird. theres 2 cops sitting at dunks and this kid has his left blinker on but hes in the straight only lane. somehow he dosnt get pulled over. once we passed dunks i got next to him and i saw his rearend lift up as if he gunned it. i dropped it into 2nd spun the tires a bit, got traction and FLEEEWWW by him. not sure if he mis shifted or what but it looked like he hit a brick wall when i passed him.

i would have ripped him one on the highway if it wasnt so wet.

tomorrow supposed to sunny and warm so we'll see what happens. im sure hes goin to be like "i so had u on the highway" and i'll just shake my head and yawn

couldnt tell if it was a V8 or not but he had decent acceleration.

damn i wish it wasnt so wet i would have embarrassed him on the highway
If his rear end "lifted" he was braking, it would squat if he was taking off

Chris

It was called a Turbo Trans Am (TTA) and had Buick's 3.8L turbo V-6 in the body of the GTA.

You are correct sir. The engine was almost identical to the one that had previously been used in the Regal T-Type/Grand National but with different heads and intercooler.
Of course this probably has nothing to do with this thread, sorry for the hijack.
