so i am on the way to work and i pull up next to this black 05-06 gt. sounded awsome. we were making a 2 lane left turn to go up to I95. i look in my rearview and a blue gto pulls up. I am think hell yeah. so the GT nails it when the light turns green so do i and my drag radials pull me out ahead, in mid turn i shift into second and i guess the tires werent hot yet beacuse i slid sideways all the way across both lanes and ahead of the gt. the gto sees this maddness and gets all on it. so we all finaly get down the on ramp and around traffic and we go 3 wide from like 60 till 130ish. The gto took the hit so i was at his gas cap the whole way no pulling either way. the 05 was about a car behind me in the right lane when the gto hit it but he pulled both of us by about 1/2 a car. it was awsome. for some reason the GT just kept going like a maniac weaving in and out of traffic never to be seen again. anyway i was stoked to keep up with a 05+ gt and a gto(ls1) on the hwy. and i killed them out of the whole.

 

what do you have done to your 04 GT? I'm assuming that that is your car.

 

nice...i guess drag radials make a big difference...don't you have nittos?

 

What mods do you have... I held steady with a ls2 gto til like about 100 110 then he would start to put a few lengths on me considering I only have simple bolt on's... I think i could take a ls1 gto.. just wondering what mods u have..

 

LS1 GTOs are not that fast, a 05+GT should be able to take a LS1 GTO. What is done to your car?

 

when i ran all i had were my nittos and my jba cat back. all my under hood stuff is off till i get done with the factory work. that 05 was pulling preaty hard after 90. i think i could have taken the gto if he didnt get the jump.

So did the '05 win? I am surprised you kept up that well from a roll if you only have a catback. The tires do nothing from a roll. Thats good, you have a strong running 2V. The LS1 GTOs usually run high 13s to low 14s.

 

LS1 GTO > 05/06 GT > 04 GT

The LS1 GTO vs 05/06 GT is a drivers race from a dig but from a roll a LS1 GTO will dominate a 05/06 GT. Most people know how a near stock 04 GT will do vs a 05/06 GT so the vs GTO is pretty much summed up at the same time.

98% of the time LS1 GTO vs 05/06 GT the GTO will win.

 

BUT THE GMPP COBALT OWNS THEM ALL!!!

but seriously, i have not been surprised from what ive seen from the GTOs at the track...i know that there are lots of fast GTOs, but they dont seem to go to any of the tracks which i frequent
