raced a lightning yesterday...
i was coming home from college yesterday and a late model im gonna guess 2001 or 2002 svt lightnight pull up next to me on the interstate he starts messing around with me about 10 miles later we get on an open stretch with absolutely noone around so we slow down to 60 i downshift to 3rd and honk 3 times and we go i hold dead even with hime door to door until the top of fourth neither one of us pulled on each other i was going pretty quick at the top of 4rh so i slowed down and ended the race but i was pretty happy that i gave a 5.4 supercharged one hell of a race
I love Lightnings and I've actually been searching to buy one for a long time. A very good friend of mine has a 95 Gen 1 that only has 16k miles on it. He is debating on selling it but I'm not looking to spend what he would want for it, lol. Its got about $10k worth of upgrades, some of which are TW Foxlake stage 2 heads, roller cam conversion, Vortech S trim, Twin fuel pumps etc. Bassani off road, Dyno Jet wide band O2, electric fans , MSD, rear valance, flat bedcover & bed rug liner. lol I know that truck like the back of my hand. As soon as this weather clears up around here we're gonna take it out for a drive.
BTW, Good job on the race, those Gen 2s are quick.

them lightnings actually kinda suck on the top end. i raced a modded one (he was picking on me thinking i was stock on the highway) and went from like a 60 roll. we were dead even til i hit 4th when i started passing him like he was slowing down. i'm not a truck person, but i wouldn't mind having a lightning.
yea there top end is what kills them, and is what can actually blow stuff on their motor lol... but yea they can be quick... would love to have one...
BTW: rumors of SVT being dissbanded.. FALSE.. svt is here to stay baby.... and there coming out with a new truck.. muhahahaha

How do you know SVT is sticking around? I have read so many posts on numerous websites including this one and the National Lightning Owner's Club about SVT going "bye bye." I want more details on this information.
