What exactly causes the sound of a supercharger, and why are some REALLY loud and others "quiet" like you claim? I've heard so many 03/04 cobras that I didn't think they made quiet ones. Somebody help me out on this one.
The sound is made when the air comes out between the screws on the s/c

not even close

It's called "instant car syndrome". They go out and buy the hot new car and all of a sudden can kill everything. Don't worry us Fbody guys have it coming when the new Camaro hits, I bet there will be a ton of overnight car guys with them.
not trying to thread jack, but was GM planning on a Camaro comeback as it was shutting it down in '02, (well, tech. well before that, but) or did the HUGE popularity of the '05 Mustang have something to do with wanting back into the market?

oh, and is a 'Bird in the works from Pontiac anytime?

sorry, like i said, if you think this should be another thread, feel free to let me know

As previously reported, General Motors is nearing a decision on how it will proceed with the Chevrolet Camaro project. According to a report published by AutoSpies today, GM might also announced the return of the Firebird and Trans AM. It sounds like GM might be considering building the two cars on the same architecture as the 2008/2009 Camaro quoted from http://www.leftlanenews.com/2006/02/...ongside-camaro
Mind you this IS only hearsay. The mustang has the pony car section of the market and Ford is banking. If GM doesn't release a REAL pony car, not just put SS on their models, then they are toast (If they aren't already thanks to the Japanese car makers making Good cars for a Good price).

Sorry about the highjack guys.

and we're really quiet when you start giving gas. above 2k rpm, you can barely hear anything on the supercharger.

on a side note. my car isn't the sleeper it was. i finally put a couple gauges on a pillar. still though, it looks stock on the outside.

Same here, you can't tell I have an s/c just from looking at it from the outside........especially with my super-quiet Saleen series VI. Makes for much sweeter surprises when cocky pr*cks rev up next to me thinking I'm a stock 3V. One of the many benefits of a good SQ.

Those new camaros are coming out in 2007 aren't they? or was it 2009? anyways they have a ZL1 edition with 404hp that will run 12.2 in the quarter mile bone stock...which is just amazing. They're also making a 330 Boss edition of the new 3v mustang.

Nice 2000...

I have to say though people that do not know a good amount about cars will not know what it is. My friend had a p1sc (now a built motor, 2.2 kb, 150 shot) but at idle the whistle sounds like it the cars that are old with a bad serbentine belt or something with that whistle.

People probably hear that and think somethings wrong with the car if they dont know any better.

Hopefully ill have a p1sc with in the next 2 months. Two weeks till im home and start working again.

Motor Trend is full of shlt. everything in that article was complete and pure supposition, and their times did not match their traps or the cars. i guess we can look forward to a stock 2008 mustang gt that traps 112 right? :bsflag:

that 404hp camaro will be a 400hp ls2 camaro, and will weigh a lil less than the current gto. it will likely run 13.0 bone stock with the average decent driver, and the boss/mach/bullit/gt350/whatever mustang will probably run the about same and have about the same power.

some people talk about wanting to get the S cause its louder, but I am just in love with stealth.

I have the gauge pods too, but that doesn't mean anything. The Rice has taken care of that for us, with the triple gauge pods with water temp, oil pressure, and EGT
