L98 TPI with 3.73 has more torque than you care to know about. It will tear him a massive butthole off the line and then proceed to dump salt and hot sauce in the new cornhole he just ripped this guy.
Maybe I'm just having a bad day, but you are so full of crap it drives me insane, I tried to be nice about it but you can run door to door with 03/04 Cobra's in your 13 second 300RWHP barely modded 05 GT and you think an 05 V6 with exhaust and a tune can beat a L98, 245HP & 330TQ & 3.73 gears in a 3200lbs car?

My dad has one of those, an '89 GTA. It produces a ton of torque right off of idle (340 @ 2000) and gears would help it exploit that torque. Roll racing is kinda metro IMO, but it would be your only chance.
come on dan , the three valves make the cobras look like hyundais'. just cause you have four valves, a blower and 80 hp and just as much torque doesnt make you faster. the 05/06 v8 and v6 stangs own all man.
why even race that TA could probably hit high 13's if it was a 5 speed
those L98's arent something to contend with unless you got a heavily modded 5.0/4.6 or a 351
i drove one (im partial GM guy what can i say) and it would absolutely smoke my mustang which runs 14's
whoever said third gen f-bodies are ugly is an idiot. those are some of the most exotic and aerodynamicaly efficient american cars ever made

The 305TPI wasn't much slower than a 5.0, they 5.7 never got matched up against the 302 5.0 from Ford....for whatever reason.
245hp & 330TQ with 3.73 gears will make for one hell of a neck snapping car from a light. They aren't heavy at all and they out-perform on the road course and a great base to start with at the drag strip.
My Iroc-z 'Vert felt more stable in turns & at high speeds than my GT & Cobra...
