I have 245/50R16's on my 93 and the car grabs at the track fine. Floor it on the street and it boils the hoops like h#ll. I run 32psi on a 42 psi rated tire. I saw a post earlier talking about running 18psi which ain't gonna cut it. Perhaps everone should run out an buy these crap 245 Yokohamas that I am running sans burnouts as well...just a few of those dreaded dry hopes to get me in the mood.

They are AVID V4's, cheepest 245/50R16 I could find. BTW, I am looking at 255/50 MT drag radials instead of the BFG's. I have a set of 345/55R15's on a tubbed Fairlane and like the BFG's, although I want to try the M/T's. I know the sectional width is only 5mm per side wider than what I have got, but I was wondering if anyone else is running the M/T 255/50R16's on the stock rims on a Fox body. The fenders won't come close but the pipes may rub...just another reason to weld in the Dumps I have been waiting to do...because the chics dig dumps...kidding.

oh..ok..i run the higher end yokos...but they tend to make them in odd sizes...i dont see them on RWD cars very often.
the MTs are supposed to be excellent..i believe (but am not positive) that JD1969 is running the MTs, and he is in the 11s.

JD is using the BF Goodrich drag radials, and 1.5 quick times confirm their effectiveness.
The Mickey Thompsons are stickier but they wear faster.

All BS aside, run your first 1320' without a lot of thought other than going down the track. I am no pro stocker but I had your set-up 10 years ago and just being there is cool. Spend your cash wisely and that ride will be doing 13's or 12's sooner than you think. The fact that your a gear head is way cool in my book!
